About
Made by one person who needed it.
Record and Transcribe is an independent app — no growth team, no data broker business model. Just a recorder that respects your voice.
Why this app exists
Voice is the fastest way to capture thought, and the slowest thing to get back out. Existing options each solved half the problem: recorders that never transcribe, transcription services that want files uploaded by hand, meeting bots that only work inside one video platform. Record and Transcribe was built to close the loop — tap once, talk, and get text with speakers labelled, without thinking about the plumbing.
What it optimises for
- Trust — audio is written durably to your device and deleted after processing unless you keep it.
- Zero ceremony — recording starts in one tap from iPhone or Apple Watch, and transcription runs itself.
- Honest pricing — free to start, one clear subscription when it earns its keep.
Who builds it
The app is designed, built, and supported by Heni Hazbay, an independent developer who ships apps for iPhone, Apple Watch, and Apple TV. Every part of Record and Transcribe — the recording engine, the transcription pipeline, this website — is his work, and the guides on the blog come from building the thing they describe.
Support emails land in the same inbox that gets the crash reports — reach him directly at henihazbay@gmail.com or via support, and feature requests genuinely steer the roadmap. You can also find him on LinkedIn.
Try the thing one person cared enough to build.
Free to start — 3 transcriptions included, no card needed. Apple Watch app comes with it.
